If, when
you're trying to install a printer via USB cable, for some reason the
“USB001 Virtual printer” port under the list of available printer
ports isn’t available or not appearing as it should under "Add
Printer",“Use an
existing port” or “Printer -> “Create a new port”. If you experience this, you can manually install the USB001 virtual printer port by re-installing usbprint.inf.

Side
note: with Windows 10, you must have the printer physically attached
to the computer or the laptop for the “USB001 virtual port” to

Installing
usbprinter.inf
- C:\windows\INF\usbprint.inf
- Right
click
- select -> install
